Feel Good Friday

Yes, yes, y'all! It's Friday! Time to put your sparkle shoes on and whip out your best party skirt because the weekend is finally here! I don't know about you, but I plan to get out there and enjoy this lovely weekend of mine! With the beautiful weather we have been having, I just can't contain myself and stay inside any longer. No ma'am, I cannot.

It pains me to say this, but I only have four episodes left of Lost. FOUR. That is all! It has taken us two months to watch six seasons and the end is finally in sight. I am holding out on watching it as long as possible because I will be absolutely devastated when it is all over.  I may sound slightly crazy obsessed, but I feel like these characters have become my friends [Okay, I realize I sound a little more than slightly crazy obsessed.]. Sawyer, he's a heartbreaker I tell you. My heart used to beat loudly for Jack, but Sawyer and his sweet southern charm sucked me in! It is probably a good thing that the weather is supposed to beautiful this weekend or else I would have been an absolute couch potato.

Here are my top four must-do's for this weeks Feel Good Friday:

1. Catch Some Rays: We all need to catch a little sunshine this weekend. Am I right? Something about being kissed by the sun makes me feel a little more sassy in the summertime.  It must be my freckles that tend to pop out!

2. Explore Your City: Whether you live in a large city or a small town, get out there and explore your digs! Grab your camera and find out what your fine surroundings have to offer! The village that I live in, German Village, is holding their yearly Home and Garden Tour. There are twelve homes in our neighborhood that will be open to tour as well as visit local gardens and shops. If you live in the Columbus area, I encourage you to partake in the festivities. You can purchase tickets here.  If not, be sure to check back or follow me on Instagram to follow along!

3. Eat This: This little one has had a major craving for something sweet lately, especially something chocolate.  Cheesecake used to be a personal favorite of mine, but since my honeybee and I have gone the plant-based diet route, cheese is a no-no in our books. Trust me when I say, giving up cheese has been painful.  I'm 100% Italiano, my friends. My parents think I have gone mad. You can imagine I did a little wiggle dance in my seat when I stumbled upon this recipe for Dairy-Free Peanut Butter Cup Cheesecake.  It sure does look lip smackin' good! I may need to test this one out over the weekend!

4. Buy Fresh Blooms:  It's pretty rare that we ever go without flowers in our home.  Flowers make a room instantly happy and I can't help but grin when I spot my favorites from a mile away [I'm a sucker for Ranunculus and Peonies!].   I especially love stopping by our local Trader Joes or Whole Foods to search for the perfect bouquet of pretty blooms. You can bet your bottom dollar that this is on the top of my list for the weekend!

Do any of these make your list for this weekend? With the Fourth of July sneaking up on us next week,  I may have to add party planning and DIY's to my list! Enjoy your weekend, ladies and gents!

Style Me Smitten

I just love a colorful and happy outfit of the day. There is something about happy hues that make my heart skip a beat! With the humid heat these days, it can be tricky to add layers to an outfit and still feel put together.   Simple accessories can do the trick in my book! This little number is what I would be wearing on a fabulous summer day like today!

Happy Wednesday, my dears! Do you have any fancy plans for today? If so, hop to it!

The Truth About Tuesdays

You guys, it happened.  Full blown eye brow clenchin', mascara streamin', wide mouth, duck face, ugly crying.  It sure did. Sure, it may not have been one of my finer moments, but it was much deserved. If you know me, you know I can be a [little] dramatic at times so when I say that the ugly cry happened, you may think this is one of those times where I am being a little over the top. Rest assured my lovelies, I am not.  Let's rewind shall we?

Just last Wednesday, my honeybee and I were jammin' to Coldplay in the kitchen while making dinner having ourselves a grand time.   Dance moves were going on, loud off key tunes were sung, and many giggles were heard. I had casually mentioned to him that when I went to Pure Barre that morning, I couldn't find any of my work out clothes.   Not a single one.  I think I have enough Lululemon tanks and yoga pants to dress the entire cast and crew of So You Think You Can Dance, but that is besides the point. Bless his heart, he does all of the laundry in this household and told me that it was all in the wash.  I just had to grab it out of the dryer the next morning since he would be gone at work. Sounds perfect, right? Wrong.

I was registered for the 9:45 a.m. barre class on Thursday morning.  Per usual, I was running a tad bit behind. At 9:25 a.m., I waltz my way down into the basement to grab my yoga pants and tank.  I head over to the dryer, open the door and what do you know- a tiny spring pops out.  What the what? I was slightly perplexed but didn't think too much of it as this little lady was on a mission!  I had fifteen minutes to hop on the highway and get to class! As I am looking for my top, I pull two of his work pants out and a plastic piece from a pen just happens to fling out of the dryer.  Just then a big ol' lightbulb pops in this head of mine!

At this point, I am grabbing all of my clothes and throwing them out of the dryer. As I pull each piece out, I notice that every piece is completely covered in blue pen. Not just a little spot here and there, completely and utterly demolished.  All of my brightly colored yoga pants, all of my tanks, all of my cute little $20 lacy lady undies, and even my Lululemon hot pink jacket that I bought three years ago and am still utterly smitten with. That's when it happened. The ugly cry.  I'm screaming, clothes are flying in the air, and my cat thinks I'm a crazy person.  The first thing I think to do is  call my husband.  Well I  call and I call and I call. No answer.  So the next thing that I do is send him 500 text messages that may or may not have been a little bit snippy.  I just knew he wasn't answering because he was afraid of me, or least that is what I would be doing!

I had no choice but to leave in dirty workout clothes from the day before or else I would miss class.  So here I am, just this tiny little thing going almost 80 MPH on the highway [Hello Mr. Police Officer!] because I am just livid.  It couldn't believe it. Not one piece was saved.  Class ends, I check my phone, and have three text messages from my honeybee.  He had been in a meeting, giving a presentation, and his phone was blowing up in his pocket- whoopsies! What was a girl to do? I was in a state of panic! He felt terrible. Utterly terrible. I knew he didn't do it on purpose, but I was devastated.

If you know my husband, I often describe him as a "fixer." That's what he does.  As much as I love him for it, sometimes I wish he would just say, "that sucks" and let it soak in before jumping to find a solution to a given problem.  Later that day, I was working and got a text message from him midday: "Meet me at Easton at 5:00? Let's get you new workout clothes!".  I think I read the text message four or five times before I responded to make sure that I read it correctly. How sweet was he?  I felt terrible, he felt terrible, but what could you do at that point? Like my honeybee always says, "It is what it is.".  Well actually, I think his words that day were, "Let's enjoy this and just have fun." While it made me sick to my stomach to think of how much we had to replace, I am so thankful to have a husband who is a fixer.  Not just for materialistic things, but who works hard and wants to do right in our marriage.  It's all about perspective.  Looking back on it now, I have to laugh at my state of mind, my ugly crying, and the look on my cats face when I was on a rampage.  What can I say? We all deserve an ugly cry every once in a while!

Can you relate? Please don't tell me I am the only one who has experienced the ugly cry!

Well, Art You Fabulous!

It's no secret that I love décor and all things design.  Put a girl in a house by herself during the summer months and her mind will run wild with new ways to make her house a home.  I know that is true for me, at least! With my honeybee working during the day, that leaves me by myself most days.  This could be a good OR bad thing! I am always finding new things that I adore and adding it to the list of things for my home that I MUST have! Most of the time I, or should I say: Max will make it happen, but sometimes he’s got to put the brakes on my plans that change from left to right.

What can I say? I have ideas, people!

While we absolutely love living in the city, soon it will be time for us to buy a home and have a little one to chase after. Even though I would love to bring new things into our home now, I know that it will be needed more once our first home comes into play.  So while I had plans to repaint our office and spruce up our guest bedroom, those things will have to wait!

This summer my plans are to change little things here and there to ease my boredom. Just to let you in on a little secret about me: I have this strange thing about décor and clothing purchases. I dream about something non-stop, convince myself that I MUST have it, and then after a month, I am over it! Is it just me? Ugh, it’s terrible and drives the mister in the household craz-y [I am talking, Beyoncé style here!]

So my first little detail to fix up in our house is in our living room.  Cute pillows? Check! Floor lamp? Check! A little greenery in the mix? Check! Adorable tufted grey couch? Uh, not yet! But it’s on my list!  New prints for the gallery wall? I think so! Add my favorite moose to the mix and we are good good to go!

Picking new prints is always a little overwhelming for me. I can pin ones that I love all day long on Pinterest and then when it’s time to commit, I panic! Have I mentioned that I’m indecisive? Okay, good! This time around, I decided to go with prints that I have eyed since we moved in two years ago. I am a lover of portraits and typography so I decided to keep it simple and to the point this time! Take a look at some of my favorite picks!

                                                            1. Spring Dress by Claire Elsaesser
                                                     2. Amperstand by Matthew Taylor Wilson
            3. Ciao by Note To Self
                                                      4. Te Amo [I Love You] by theloveshop
                                              5. It's Never Too Late by The Watermelon Factory
                                                              6. I Like You by Rachillustrates
                                                                 7. Tucked by Note To Self
                                                8. Top Not Print, Yellow by Elizabeth Mayville

What are some of your favorite prints? Be sure to send them my way! Chances are, my mind will change before I say, “Last call!”

Oh, Snap!

“Don’t Stop, Get it, Get it!”:  In case you were wondering, this was my mantra for the week! This past week was a busy one at that! I was always on the go with a long list of things to do like doctor visits, packing, and cleaning our place before I had to head out of town for the week. My first week of summer is usually spent sleeping in until 10:00am [a guilty, but well deserved, pleasure of mine!], but with so much to do, I just didn’t get to enjoy it. Maybe next week!

Puppies in the Park:  Two weekends ago, my honeybee and I worked midday shifts at our side jobs and were able to enjoy the afternoon together.  If you know us personally, you know that this never happens! We typically work opposite schedules and aren't able to always enjoy things together, which is unfortunate, but we always make the most of it when we can! Last weekend we took our puppy friends for a walk and stayed for Shakespeare in the Park! We live in cutest little part of the city in downtown Columbus. We can walk to so many great places.  Living here in the summertime is the bees knees!

Here Comes the Bride:  One of my best gal pals got married this weekend! The wedding was absolutely beautiful and she looked stunning! I was so excited to be a part of her special day. You can bet your bottom dollar that the tears were flowin’! I cry at almost every wedding I attend, and this one was no exception! I wish I had more pictures to show ya’ll but the dance floor was callin’ my name! I may or may not have become friends with our bartender, April, that night. Oops!

Snail Mail: I am one of those gals who checks the mail every day to see if there is a paper parcel addressed to me!  I am not talking about bills either [the man of the house can take care of those]. It sounds silly, but snail mail just makes my entire day turn around.  It is so thoughtful to think that someone took time out of his or her busy day to send something.  I was rushing out the door this week and happened to check my mail. In there I found this little card for me and I just giggled! She has become a sweet friend of mine via Instagram a year or so ago. I only wished we lived closer because we are kindred spirits!

Oh Hey!: Speaking of my gal pals wedding, another bridesmaid and I skipped town last Wednesday to help perfect the last minute details of her wedding. We all haven’t had a chance to hang out this long since graduate school but it was just like old times! Girl talk, cocktails on patios, shopping, and pizza.

Cheers!:  If you read my previous blog post about my summer bucket list, you would know that cocktails were on my list! A week ago, my honeybee and I ventured out and tried a new little place called Mouton. If you live here in Columbus and have yet to try it, you must! The vintage cocktails are lovely and I could not get over the darling décor.  Just thinking about it makes me want to go back! Happy hour, anyone?

So tell me, how is the kick off of your summer? Have you done anything wonderful? Happy Monday, friends!

This Weekend-er

Hooray! Hooray! Hooray! The weekend is finally here! It's not just ANY weekend- it's my best gal pal’s wedding weekend! Another bridesmaid and I packed our bags and headed out the door this Wednesday to report for wedding duty!  Seating charts, bustles, and honeymoon packing have been on our list! Don't you worry friends- cocktails and wine have been included in on the festivities, too!  I am sure tears will be flowin' on Saturday! I get so giddy just thinking about seeing her walk down the aisle. It takes me back to my own wedding day almost two years ago! Stay tuned on Monday for my weekend roundup, but until then, take a look at what's inside my bag this weekend:

Polka Dot DressI'm wearing this dress for the rehearsal dinner on Friday.  As soon as I saw it, I had to have it! It reminded me so much of the dress that Julia Roberts wore in Pretty Woman and that just happens to be tied for my favorite movie [Steel Magnolias is a close second!]. What’s the best part about this dress, you ask? It comes in petite! How perfect, right?

Striped Pajama SetI bought this striped pajama set recently and I just love it. It'll be so comfy for when the bride and all of us maids are loungin' in the hotel suite!

Essie Nail PolishI never leave my house without a bottle of nail polish in my bag.  It is usually my favorite hue- “Snap Happy” by Essie! We are getting mani's and pedi's on Friday morning and I am sure that this happy hue will make its way on both my fingers and toes!

Fresh Citron Body LotionIt's very rare that I ever find a body lotion that I love and stick with once it runs out. However, I am forever hooked on this one! It smells so fresh and makes me feel fancy when I put it on. If you haven't tried it out yet, it's a must!

Metallic SandalsI love these sandals SO much that I bought them in two different colors! I am typically more of a gold than silver gal, but these have been on my feet non-stop since I purchased them! They will be perfect for this weekend and will go with absolutely everything!

Emergency KitBridal Emergency kit- need I say more? This little thing holds more than I can possibly list and my own personal version has come in handy so often! It's adorbs.

Striped T-ShirtPerfect to throw on Sunday morning when I may or may not have had a little too much to drink and need to drive home to see my pops!

MoisturizerI promise that one of these days I will get better at my night time ritual of washing off all of my make-up.  This moisturizer has completely lifted and tightened my face since I started using it and I haven't stopped since! It's a little pricey for the size of the bottle, but I just can't help myself.  The results make the price totally worth it!

SunniesMy sunnies are typically stuck on my face in the summertime. I have so many pairs, but these are my favorite!

Laundry BagThis laundry bag is a must for my travels.

Travel BagI have purchased a lot of bags in my lifetime, but this one is a favorite! The size is swell and I can fit almost everything I need into it. Not to mention, I am kind of smitten with those stripes!

Hope you all have a great weekend! Do you have any special plans with your pops? See you all back here on Monday!

Let's Face It

It's Wednesday, which usually means that I am caught in the middle of a busy week.  Although life has slowed down slightly due to my summer vacation, I still have things that need to be checked off on my to-do list such as piles of laundry and a sink full of dishes.  Don't get me wrong, I find quite the satisfaction in using my Le Pens to cross one more thing off my list, but sometimes I have so much to do that I avoid it. Am I the only one who feels this way? Maybe so, but this is real life, my friends.

I had been going back and forth for almost a year on whether or not to create this blog.  One day I would be super excited and the next, completely intimidated.  I am sure my honeybee was tired of hearing about it, but he never once doubted me.  I was always so worried about what others would think about me – if anyone would read it, and what I would even blog about. With so many great blogs today, I felt like I would just be another blogger to add to the mix of an already over-populated scene.  I've only been at it for a couple of weeks but it has honestly been an emotional roller coaster.  Don't get the wrong idea, I am not sharing these thoughts to gain pity from others. What I am here to share is this: who cares.

2013 was one of the hardest years for me for a number of reasons. I was constantly stressed, in tears, and had a hard time accepting a lot of the changes that were going on in my life.  My hair dresser, Josie, invited me to attend a yoga class she was teaching at her studio she had opened. She handed me her business card and I casually tucked it away in my wallet.  I hate to admit it but months went by before I even looked at that card again, but the thought of attending one of her classes was always on my mind.   The stress of my life finally took over me and I was looking for an outlet to de-stress my life rather than adding more clutter [ahem, shopping], so I finally took the plunge and attended a class. It sounds a little strange, but that night I seriously had an out of body experience and left that class with a sense of clarity and peace. Yoga quickly became something more to me than perfecting my Chaturanga or being able to get up into my handstand without the support of the wall.  Yoga was helping me tackle the battle within myself.

Life moves so fast.  I work three jobs and try to squeeze a little down time in between. It's so easy to get caught up in just "doing." We need to stop doing and start living.  I have had to tell myself that so many times within the past year and I am still learning to live in the moment. Be present. It sounds so cliché, but it brings so much more joy.  When I started to really live this way, my entire life started to change. I am a happier person and a lot of great doors have opened for me. If it wasn't for the lessons that yoga has taught me, I am not sure how I would have handled the news about my dad's illness and all of the baggage that was attached to it.

Josie said it best: “Face your fears. Don't just face them, thank them.”  Who cares if no one will like my blog or if I can't yet run those five miles that I want to get to. At least I faced them, put myself out there, and had fun while doing so.  Thanks to my fears I got into graduate school and now work at a wonderful job with great parents and fun toddlers where I get to help make a difference in their lives. Thanks to my fears I moved to a city where I knew no one to start a career.  Thanks to my fears I started this blog. Whatever your fear is, just face it. It doesn't have to be large or life changing. It just has to be something. Do what makes you feel uncomfortable.  Push your limits. We are our own worst critics.  We compete with ourselves and compare ourselves to others who are not in the same chapter of life as we are.  Why compete against anyone, including ourselves, when we are all striving to be the best that we possibly can?  I hope we all make it. I really do.

Father's Day Gift Guide

This past year was one for the books for my dear ol' pops! He has been battling some very serious health scares and each moment that I am able to spend with him, I hold very near and dear to my heart!  My gal pal's wedding is this weekend [hooray!] but we will be traveling up to see my dad for Father's Day on Sunday. This Father's Day will be about celebration of life and a very happy day at that! Take a look at some of my favorite Father's Day picks! Perhaps you need a few suggestions!

  • Father's Day Card: This card says it all! Did you really think I would have a list of my favorite gifts and forget to include a card? Never!
  • Bottle Opener: Owen + Fred has a lot of great gifts for the gents in your life! I recently came across this bottle opener and thought it would be the perfect little gift for those nights when work was a real drag and drinks are on the brain!
  • Button Up: I have to admit, when I am stuck for a gift- clothes are my go-to! One can never have too many button ups, right? I just love this plaid one! It screams summer!
  • Drink, Anyone?: I am a sucker for good packaging and this one looks delicious!
  • iPad Case: Snail mail packaging on an iPad case? How perfect!
  • Journal Set: This journal set comes in a set of three.  The notepads themselves are fairly tiny but perfect for those moments when you need to jot down that thought before it is gone!
  • The Mantry: I have been drooling over The Mantry for almost two years.  It was on my list of gifts for Max last holiday but unfortunately, I did not get around to pulling the trigger.  That my friends, was a huge mistake.  The Mantry is a monthly subscription [think Birchbox] but of  American artisan foods [think BBQ sauce, jerky, + syrup]. All of your lovely goods come in an adorable crate each month.  The packaging alone is eye catching and I am sure the food is even better! It is a definite must!
  • Paddle Board Set: This paddle board set reminds me of my childhood! Lazy summers without the television or cell phones to interrupt good ol' family time!
  • Weekender Bag: Every man needs a nice weekender bag.  I love this one.  Black canvas with cognac leather straps is classic and the quality is impeccable!
  • Mizzen + Main Bow Tie: This bow tie is flat out adorbs! Mizzen + Main is a local mens shop here in Columbus, Ohio but they do have another shop in Dallas, Texas. All merchandise is manufactured here in the United States. If you are looking for great quality menswear, look no further!
  • Driving Gloves: These driving gloves are snazzy! Put these puppies on and you'll be ready for a ride! Beep beep!

There you have it, ladies and gents! Hopefully you can think back on a memory with your dad and smile. I know I can!

Just Smitten

 1 2 3 4 5

Can we talk about my love of all things stripe for a hot second? Seriously, I love 'em! Just the other day, I was folding and hanging a massive pile of clothes [that I shamefully threw on the floor] and giggled to myself when I noticed how many stripes I actually have.

If you follow me on Instagram, you would know how much I love a good outfit.  My closet is filled with an abundance of happy hues and to be honest, sometimes it can be a little overwhelming.  I have noticed lately that there are a number of pieces that I wear over and over, while there are other pieces that I hardly ever wear.  Stripes are a repeat offender. They are classic, preppy, and always look put together.  While I love all stripes, navy stripes have my heart. Here are a few of my favorite ways to wear them:
1.  Shirts: I have so many! Striped tanks, striped button ups, striped t-shirts. If I see one, I need it!  They are just so easy to wear! Years ago, I was lusting over this J. Crew maxi skirt that they paired a striped t-shirt with and have yet to get it off my mind! I actually picked up green fabric from Hobby Lobby that is identical to make my own this summer [add it to my to-do list!].  Wish me luck!
2.   Accessories: The easiest, and perhaps my favorite, way to wear stripes! From scarves to bags, they are just so fun! Pair them with a pop of color and you have one adorbs outfit!
3.  Shorts: Some gals aren’t fans of striped shorts, but if you find the right pair, they can work. My favorite is a striped pleated pair that I purchased from J.Crew two years ago.  There is something about them that make me feel quite sassy when I put them on!
4.   Dresses: I love a good striped dress.  In the summer, you will typically find me in a dress or a skirt.  They are easy to put on, comfortable, and totally fit my personality.  Most of my dresses are stripes so clearly I need to add some variety in my closet, but what’s a girl to do? Ya like what ya like? Am I right?
5.   Pattern Play: 2013 was the year of pattern play. So much so that sometimes I thought the ladies took the trend a little too far.  I still enjoy mixing subtle patterns, particularly stripes + floral.  It’s flirty and fun!

Are any of you guilty of owning as many stripes as I am? What is your favorite way to wear stripes? Enjoy your weekend! It’s supposed to be a warm one!

Hello Sunshine, Hello Summer!

1 2 3 4 5 6
Hip Hip Hooray! As of 3:00 today, I am officially on summer vacation! I can just smell the summer air and feel the breeze blow in my hair! My months of hard work and nights of little sleep have finally paid off and I will be able to enjoy life to the fullest. I usually have more ideas than time but here are a few musts on my long list of to-do’s until work beckons in August:
  •  Soak Up the Sunshine: Last summer was anything but sunny.  It rained for most of what I remember and I probably only went to the pool twice. My skin thanked me but it certainly put a damper on my summer! So sunshine, I’m comin’ for ya!
  •   Yoga Smoga: I am a Pure Barre junkie. If you haven’t heard of it, I am sure that you will hear about it from me again. With over 400 classes under my belt, I keep coming back for more.  Yoga is a close second.  There is nothing better than getting out of your head with a few handstands.  Max and I will be yoga hopping between some of our favorite studios this summer and I just can’t wait!
  •    Zoom Zoom: You will find me zippin’ and zoomin’ along the bike trails, too! Do you get a sense that I can’t wait to be outside this summer? Guilty as charged!
  •  Cocktails, anyone?  One of my most favorite things about summer is happy hour on a patio.  Takes me back to my good ol' college days and just thinking about it makes me instantly grin! I have high hopes for new cocktails that I will concoct with the mint we planted in our garden!
  • Snap Happy:  We had purchased a Cannon Rebel for our honeymoon to Italy two years ago and I am just now getting around to using it again. Silly me!
  •   Wedding Bells: What better way to kick off a summer than with a wedding for one of your best gal pals? Next weekend we put our party pants on and celebrate the new Mr. and Mrs.!

What about you ladies and gents? Do you have any exciting plans for summer?

Oh, Snap!

 via: OldEnglishCo.

“Think Happy, Be Happy”: That was my mantra for the week! With less than a five days to go in the school year, there is anything but a little downtime in my schedule.  From progress reports to last minute therapy sessions, I am a busy bee! This time of year can be a crazy one, so much so that I find myself looking forward to summer when livin’ is easy and my schedule is wide open.  I stopped myself this week to really enjoy the moments I have left with my little ones. It is rewarding to think of all the progress they have made since the fall. Last week, one of my toughest non-verbal kiddos had a breakthrough.  He walked up to a peer, said her name, and gave her a hug and a kiss.  It may not seem meaningful and actually quite simple, but it has taken us nine months to get this far.  My team and I all had tears in our eyes.  It was such a great moment and has taught me to be thankful for little victories!
Happy Hues: Happy days call for happy hues! With all of the wonderful weather we have been having, I couldn’t help myself.  A colorful wardrobe is just another way to spread a little cheer!
Huzzah: This week was an exciting one for the Laird household. After a long search, my honeybee finally started his new job! He has worked so hard to get to this point and I am so proud of him. He does so much for this little family of ours and it has me grinnin’ from ear to ear.  I just know that he will be fabulous!
The Laird’s Plant a Garden:  Speaking of this little family of ours, we planted a garden! This is year two of city living for us, so our backyard is quite tiny.  We had to get creative, but it’s a lot bigger than last years garden!  Max worked away while I painted cute little stakes. Let’s hope he still has that green thumb because I can’t wait to fry some peppers- Italiano style! I’ll keep ya’ll posted!
Baby Otto Turns Uno:  In March, one of my best gal pals and her family packed up and left the city.  She has the cutest little son Otto [SO adorbs!], who just turned one. Max and I are heading out of town this weekend to celebrate his first birthday and I can’t wait to kiss those cheeks.  He may or may not be the culprit of my baby fever, just sayin’!
Hometown Shenanigans:  We traveled home for Memorial Day weekend to visit my dad.  The weather was beautiful and we were able to spend a lot of time outdoors.  We rode bikes, took my pops to the zoo, and even continued on with our Memorial Day tradition of heading out to the Hartville Flea Market. We were up at 5:00 a.m. and out the door by 5:45 a.m. It is something that we have done in my family since I was a youngin’. Super early but totally worth it!

I hope you all are enjoying your own little moments! Have a swell week! Get outside and soak in some sunshine!
